It’s a few weeks before Valentine’s Day, and my husband asks where I would like to eat so he can make reservations. The exciting part about Valentine’s Day is this year it’s on a Thursday. My husband is off work on Wednesdays, and we can celebrate without worrying about the extra crowds! I quickly blurt out, “I want to go to the Grand Lux Café”!

Ugh! I need to exercise more, but I don’t like it. I’ve purchased a treadmill and elliptical trainer that are sitting in my basement. I’ve used both of them a lot, but I usually stop because I’ve either hurt my ankle or my work schedule has allowed me to slack off. Definitely all excuses. Crap, I’ve spent at least $3,400 on my American Express card for these machines, I need to use them! I haven’t made it a priority to sweat my butt off before or after work. Three things that I’m working on this month towards my goals.

I do my best not to create negative blogs, but since this site is supposed to be an area for me to relax and spill my thoughts, I guess this is the best place to do it. Yesterday, I was at a fundraising event for my job at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois. While I was there, I had to use the bathroom. First of all, I hate using public bathrooms, but I psyched myself up because it was a brand new constructed area, and I automatically thought I would not have a “scary” experience.
I recently visited the Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe at the Water Tower location at 196 E. Pearson Street, Chicago, IL. I’ve been wanting to go to Wildberry for a couple of years. My youngest daughter used to work for Postmates food delivery service and would tell me every time she would pick up an order from the Randolph location (Prudential Plaza), there was always a huge line out the door. Needless to say, I had visited their website and viewed all the delicious items, but I was so disappointed because I don’t do long food lines. There were even suggestions to use an online waiting list. Are you kidding me? I love the convenience, but that’s insane!
My morning routine usually consists of checking my phone to see what’s happening on Facebook. I was quickly reminded that today, October 1, is the one year anniversary of the Vegas mass shooting. On that horrific day, I was in town celebrating my 13th year wedding anniversary. After flying in and getting settled into our resort, my husband and I were driving on the strip to go to the MGM Grand to see the Jabbawockeez. Little did we know there was a major country music festival happening, and it was the reason why we were sitting in so much traffic.
Meet my mother Carolyn. She’s a married woman with 2 adult children, 3 grand-children, and 1 great-grand child on the way. Yes she looks amazing for her age! My mom is semi-retired, works hard at being a woman of God (she’s an evangelist), and is in need of a vacation. Fortunately, she has me to tag along!
I’ve been living on the south-side of Chicago for over 11 years, and it never ceases to amaze me of how there is one particular area that pretty much gets away with selling everything under the sun to drivers attempting to get on one of Chicago’s major expressways, I-94. This area is 87th and the Dan Ryan. From t-shirts, hats, towels, candy, socks, batteries, water, juice, a bubble machine, and bean pies, the options are never ending!
Between clothes, chairs, at-home exercise equipment, and of course food; when I look over the past few years living a plus size lifestyle, I’ve been …
It’s my birthday and my thoughtful husband, who apparently remembers everything that comes out of my mouth, has decided to take me out for lunch at a local ramen shop. I’ve been harping about eating ramen at a Japanese restaurant for a while now. It’s a good day to have a palate adventure.
Anyone who truly knows me should be aware that I am down for Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai food at least once a week. Between the sauces, flavors and cooking styles, you could literally have a different meal every day. In fact, when I go on vacation, I’m usually on the hunt for the area’s best Asian spot on Yelp. For instance, my husband and I took a 3-day trip to St. Louis. By the way, if you are visiting St. Louis, stay at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel (Curio Collection by Hilton). It’s a gorgeous hotel with a lot of amenities and activities!
