I do my best not to create negative blogs, but since this site is supposed to be an area for me to relax and spill my thoughts, I guess this is the best place to do it. Yesterday, I was at a fundraising event for my job at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois. While I was there, I had to use the bathroom. First of all, I hate using public bathrooms, but I psyched myself up because it was a brand new constructed area, and I automatically thought I would not have a “scary” experience.
I recently visited the Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe at the Water Tower location at 196 E. Pearson Street, Chicago, IL. I’ve been wanting to go to Wildberry for a couple of years. My youngest daughter used to work for Postmates food delivery service and would tell me every time she would pick up an order from the Randolph location (Prudential Plaza), there was always a huge line out the door. Needless to say, I had visited their website and viewed all the delicious items, but I was so disappointed because I don’t do long food lines. There were even suggestions to use an online waiting list. Are you kidding me? I love the convenience, but that’s insane!
My morning routine usually consists of checking my phone to see what’s happening on Facebook. I was quickly reminded that today, October 1, is the one year anniversary of the Vegas mass shooting. On that horrific day, I was in town celebrating my 13th year wedding anniversary. After flying in and getting settled into our resort, my husband and I were driving on the strip to go to the MGM Grand to see the Jabbawockeez. Little did we know there was a major country music festival happening, and it was the reason why we were sitting in so much traffic.
Meet my mother Carolyn. She’s a married woman with 2 adult children, 3 grand-children, and 1 great-grand child on the way. Yes she looks amazing for her age! My mom is semi-retired, works hard at being a woman of God (she’s an evangelist), and is in need of a vacation. Fortunately, she has me to tag along!
During our family road trip we stopped in Memphis to eat some good food and learn some black history at the Lorraine Motel and National Civil Rights Museum.
