Foodie Review: Xurro – Churro Factory
July is National Ice Cream Month, and one of the hottest months has brought me to Xurro – Churro Factory. There’s lot of sweet treats on the menu, but why I’m here is that I heard they have churro sundaes and funnel cakes! First, I’ve never had a churro – yes, I know, how can I live in Chicago and never have eaten a churro. Well today’s the day because, not only will have a churo, but they’ll be some ice cream goodness with it.
There’s a few locations in heavily Latinx neighborhoods of Chicago. I traveled to the Logan Square location. The churro flavors included cream cheese, strawbery, chocolate, and vanilla. I decided to do chocolate with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. I must say, I was highly disappointed with the number of choices available as wet and dry toppings for their funnel cakes. This means I’ll continue to go to the Sugar Shack to take care of that craving.
Not only does Xurro have churros, but there’s hot and cold chocolate, milkshakes, smoothies, coffee, and atole on the menu.
