Juicy chunks of seasoned chicken and shrimp are threaded onto skewers, cooked until tender, and brushed with a creamy homemade bang bang sauce made with sweet chili sauce, honey, and Sriracha. Whether you make them in the air fryer, oven, or on the grill, they’re perfect for weeknight dinners, cookouts, game day appetizers, or meal prep.

Equipment
- 20-30 wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
- 2 baking sheet with rack
Ingredients
Shrimp Skewers
- 1 lb jumbo shrimp (tail-on) peeled and deveined
- olive oil
- Southernmost Blend (Key West Spice Company) OR your favorite seafood rub, cajun seasoning, OR Old Bay.
Chicken Skewers
- 2 lb chicken breast diced into bite-size chunks
- olive oil
- Chipotle Chicken (Spanglish Asadero) OR use 1 tsp each of cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, italian seasoning plus ½ tsp of black pepper
Bang Bang Sauce
- 2½ cups Mayonnaise
- 1⅓ cup Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
- 4 tsp Sriracha
- 4 tbsp honey
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400℉
- In a large pan add wooden skewer. Top with water and set aside for 30 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp and drizzle with olive oil and add seafood seasoning or alternate. Toss evenly to coat the shrimp. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the diced chicken breasts, olive oil, cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and black pepper. Toss to evenly coat the chicken.
- In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey. Mix well and pour 1/2 into a separate bowl. This will be used later for a dipping sauce.
- Remove skewers from water.
- Add 4-5 cubes of chicken onto each skewer.
- Add 4-5 shrimp onto each skewer.
Cooking Method
- Skewers can be cooked by baking in the oven, air fryer, or on the grill. Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F. Use a baking rack, be sure to cover the pan with aluminum foil and spray the rack with nonstick spray. Brush 1/2 of Bang Bang Sauce on both sides of shrimp and chicken. Bake for 15 minutes on one side, flip over and bake for another 15 minutes.The shrimp will finish cooking before the chicken. They're done once they are white/pink and no longer translucent.You'll cook the chicken until the internal temperature has reached 165℉. Transfer the skewers to a plate and drizzle or brush with the reserved bang bang sauce. Serve immediately.Grill: Wait until after grilling to brush with the bang bang sauce. Grill over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the shrimp is white/pink and no longer translucent. Brush the grilled chicken with the bang bang sauce.AirFry: Air fry at 400°F for 11-12 minutes, flipping halfway. Chicken is fully cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the shrimp is white/pink and no longer translucent. Brush the chicken and shrimp with the bang bang sauce.
