Peach Cobbler Fruit Topping
- 1 16 oz bag frozen peaches
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
French Toast
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups milk (2% or whole milk)
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 loaf brioche, challah, or King's Hawaiian bread
- 3 tbsps butter
- 3 tbsps olive oil
Instructions
Peach Cobbler Fruit Topping
- In a saucepan on medium heat add the frozen peaches, sugar, butter, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and orange extract.
- After 5 minutes stir the filling. Cook on low for about 5 minutes until peaches are firm and not frozen.
French Toast
- In medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, orange extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- In a skillet on medium-low heat add 1 1/2 tbsps of butter and olive oil each.
- Slice loaf of brioche bread into 8 slices. Dip 2 slices into the french toast batter enough to cover on each sides, but don't soak.
- Add slices of bread into skillet and cook on each side for about 3 minutes or until brown. Repeat until all slices are cooked.
- Serve peach cobbler fruit topping over french toast.
- Optional - serve with ice cream or drizzle cream cheese topping.
