OMG!!! Finally, the day has arrived where I was able to see my all-time celebrity crush, LL Cool J aka Todd James Smith aka Sam Hanna!!!! Boy, did I have an awesome time checking out the F.O.R.C.E. tour at the United Center in Chicago. The concert included DJ Short Kut, DJ Z-Tripp, DJ Jazzy Jeff, The Roots, Rakim, Common, Bones Thugs-N-Harmony, Doug E. Fresh, and Slick Rick.
All the acts did a fantastic job. I have seen Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick at the Taste of Chicago a few years ago. I also had seen Common in concert some years back with Maxwell and Chrisette Michelle. I had never seen The Roots live. What they do on the Jimmy Fallon show is nothing in comparison to seeing them live. I felt in awe of seeing Black Thought and Quest Love live. The Roots did the music for the entire concert which made transitioning between all the acts very smooth. I’m not a fan of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, however, I recalled all the songs they performed and I was fairly entertained.

Who I really wanted to see was LL Cool J and Rakim. I have been admiring these men since I was in grade school! Yes, back in the mid-80s! And watching them took me back to elementary school and high school! So many memories. The stamina of being on the stage and performing in their mid-50s was so amazing!
Celebrating the 50th year of Hip Hop, I purchased these Timberland Boots earlier in the year. I purposely waited for the concert to wear them. Overall, they were comfortable, but if you’re standing up dancing, you’ll eventually feel it in your knees after hour two!
Look at that grin, I’m ready!
