Foodie Review: Phil’s Pizza

Phil’s Pizza is a small carryout and dine-in restaurant in the Bridgeport area of Chicago. The menu has some italian favorites, like meatball sandwiches and italian beef and sausage combos. There’s also pasta dishes, such as, mostaccioli, spaghetti, and ravioli. Phil’s Pizza should definitley be on the top 10 list of Chicago’s best pizza establishments. I’ve been at Phil’s multiple times over the past two years, and I’ve never tried none of these items – except for the pizza! 

The restaurant is less than a mile away from the Chicago White Sox stadium – Guaranteed Rate Field. It’s also in the same neighborhood as my favorite ice cream parlor – 26th Street Sugar Shack!

Phil’s Pizza has all the typical toppings such as sausage, pepperoni, anchovies, mushrooms, bacon, gardinera, and spinach.  There’s something about their crust that makes all the toppings meld together perfectly for their tavern style pizza.  Phil’s doesn’t have Chicago’s deep dish, but they do have jumbo size pizzas for large parties.
