Since March, I’ve had the opportunity to work remotely due to the pandemic. However, working remotely has kept me from some of my favorite lunch-time restaurants. Well the other day, I decided to stop by the job and put up my little Christmas tree in my office. While taking a break, I had an epiphany to order some carryout from Smoque BBQ!
Smoque BBQ uses the Toast Takeout app services for online ordering. It’s really simple, and you can add different options for food choices, which some restaurants don’t allow for big food delivery app companies like UberEats. For instance, I don’t like Smoque’s coleslaw, but I love their corn bread, and I can easily switch out the coleslaw for cornbread on the app.
I ordered my favorites from Smoque BBQ – 1/2 St. Louis with mac and cheese and bbq beans, a taste portion of the sliced brisket, and of course – the cornbread. I don’t know how they make the mac and cheese, but it’s so deliciously addictive! There’s only so much a girl can order and eat (this can quickly become very expensive), but some of my other favorites are the pulled pork, baby back ribs, french fries (they give you plenty for 2 -3 people) and the Texas sausage. Smoque BBQ does have two desserts, peach cobbler and pecan bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce. I’m not a fan of either, but honestly, I’ve never had the bread pudding because I don’t like pecans, but the peach cobbler was only okay. It doesn’t taste like mine, my mother’s, or any other of my family members that can throw down in the kitchen. I believe they add some type of oats or something on the crust. Anywhoo, not my favorite on the dessert menu section, but that’s okay, the bbq speaks volumes.
